Bicycle Quill & Threadless Stem Replacement Bolts ( Your Option Choice ) New Replacement Chromoly Steel chrome plated Bolts for Bicycle Quill and Threadless Stems. Your Option Choice from the Menu. Bolts are Metric Standard Coarse Thread and Mainly for Newer made for Stems although some Vintage Road Bikes may of used metric. Quill Stem Binder Bolts and Binder Nuts are metric but can work in a Vintage Quill Stem when used in it’s entirety as a replacement. Choices are: M8 Hex Head 21.1mm Binder, M8 Hex Head 22.2mm Binder, M8 Hex Socket 22.2mm Binder, M10 Hex Hollow 21.1mm Binder. Please READ and Calculate if the Binder bolt will work for you before purchasing, FYI Bolt Lengths are measured from the bottom of the head to the thread tip. The M8 Binder Bolts are Approximately 180mm or 7″ long with 50mm or 2″ of thread. M8 = 8mm Diameter and makes a good Replacement for a Vintage Stem that used 5/16″ bolt but make sure the length works for you. Binder Bolts and Nuts must be used as a set on Vintage stems. The Binder Nut Sizes are: 21.1mm or 22.2mm, that is in relation to the the size of the opening of your top nut and fork tube, the stem post diameter will have to slide in to opening snugly. Most Early Vintage Bikes and New Bikes with 1″ treaded Forks use the 7/8″ or 22.2mm stem and binder nut. On Vintage Schwinn’s the 7/8″ also 22.2mm ( Bigger size ) was used from the early 1900’s to 1965. The ( smaller size ) 21.1mm also 13/16 was used on Old School BMX Stems and Vintage Schwinn’s from 1966 till the 1980’s. “Always Measure to Be sure” The M10 =10mm Hex Hollow bolt is approximately 160mm long with 40mm thread with a 21.1mm Binder. The M10 Hollow binder is kinda a Cinderella fit but would be used on Old School Freestyle BMX stems that needed a hollow bolt for a brake cable. Stem Clamp Bolts: Bolts are sold as shown and described if you need more order multiples. Choices are: 2x M8 25mm Hex Socket, 2x M7 24mm Button Socket, 2x M6 20mm Hex Socket, 2x M5 18mm Hex Socket, M8 35mm Button Socket with Nut, and 2x Gold M7 18mm Button Socket. Bolts can be used for what ever application calls for the size ordered. The M8 25mm Hex Socket is used in New Remakes of 4 Bolt BMX Stems. The M7 Button Head is used in Threadless Stems and Lowrider 2 Bolt Quill Stems. The M6 and M5 is used in Threadless Stems, usually the lighter the stem the smaller the screws.
