Der Vorteil dieser Technologie im Vergleich zu Speedsensoren, welche auch Radumdrehungen zählen, wenn Sie schieben, ist, dass der Sensor nur Radumdrehungen registriert, wenn Sie tatsächlich in die Pedale treten. Die Betriebstemperatur des Sensors reicht von -20 – 45 °C. Der Sensor wiegt 312g und ist gemäß höchsten Industriestandards geprüft, nach denen weder Staub noch Nässe eindringen darf, und besitzen den IP X5 Standard. Die beiden Modelle unterschieden sich in der Achslänge, beide sind für eine Tretlagerbreite von 68mm konzipiert. Zur Montage müssen Sie Ihr Tretlager ausbauen. Der Sensor wird aufgeschraubt und dann mit ca. 30Nm eingeschraubt. Dafür können Sie das Bafang Werkzeug für Motormontage für BBS01 / BBS02 / BBSHD verwenden. Das Kabel befindet sich in der Mitte des Sensors, es wird also eine Bohrung in der Mitte des Tretlagergehäuses benötigt. Die mitgelieferte  Dichtung schützt vor Wasser und Staub. Mit 0,5 Metern Kabellänge haben Sie ausreichend Spielraum zum Anschließen des Sensors. Es werden ebenso zwei Gummidichtungen und passende Kurbelschrauben für die jeweils rechte und linke Seite mitgeliefert.
